In the middle of Manhattan’s nonstop buzz, there’s a new kind of magic lighting up Times Square—and it all started with an idea and a shipping container.
Buchette del Vino NYC, the city’s newest experiential restaurant, opened in June to much fanfare and press (including a glowing Forbes feature). But behind the headlines is a bold creative and engineering feat, made possible by the collaboration of two powerhouses.
At the intersection of innovation and craftsmanship, UNCONTAINED partnered with The Lambs Club to transform shipping containers into a high-end, high-concept dining destination—reviving the centuries-old Florentine tradition of wine windows, known as “buchette del vino”, in one of the busiest intersections on earth.
Building Something Unrepeatable
For The Lambs Club, the goal was more than launching a new wine bar—it was about creating a destination that felt like a whispered secret in a city that shouts. They imagined Buchette del Vino NYC as a space that could feel both timeless and totally unexpected.
UNCONTAINED handled the container transformation—from structural engineering and fabrication to permitting and installation.
The result? A sleek, black steel façade punctuated by wine windows that open onto 44th Street, where guests can order Italian bites and curated pours just as they would in Florence during the 1600s.

A New Kind of Landmark
UNCONTAINED’s container architecture doesn’t just bring flexibility to clients, it brings cultural moments to life. Whether reimagining outdoor dining, launching pop-up retail, or creating unforgettable brand activations, the company is known for turning containers into conversation starters. Buchette del Vino NYC is a perfect example.
In the words of Ryan, “This project is a case study in how architecture, branding, and culture can collide to create something truly one-of-a-kind. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s a story people want to step into.”
